Reflection: What did this man do to Grace Poole for her to attack him in such a violent and vicious manner? She would have killed the man if it were not for Mr. Rochester running to Mr. Mason's rescue. To hate with such a passion that when her weapon is stripped from her she attempts to rip him to shreds with her teeth. For what purpose does Mr. Rochester keep such a crazed and savage woman in his custody. There is more the story of Grace Poole; she has some sort of unbreakable connection to Mr. Rochester. Also, what business did Mr. Mason have to be up in the third story in the middle of the night? Suspicious actions that night foreshadow some kind of revelation later on in the novel. There is something peculiar about Grace Poole: her savage behavior, late night visitor, connection to Rochester, etc.
